Ogbanje- OGbanje Ogbanje 2Things Fall Apart

Ogbanje actualy means "Children who come and go." This in translation is the spirit of a young child who is born and then in return dies or is stillborn. The childs spirit returns to haunt the parents (mother), in a never ending cycle. Obanjes continue to return because thier souls are bound to an Iyi-uwa. This is an object that still remains in the living world. The only way to end the cycle of death and life for the child spirit, is to locate and destroy the Iyi-uwa. Ogbanjes and Iyi-uwas make an aprreance in the book,Things Fall Apart, thorugh the character Eznima.
